A radiofrequency (RF) treatment produces a high frequency electrical current to generate heat and stimulate collagen, a protein that controls inflammation. By improving collagen function, inflammation is reduced in the meibomian glands, while the application of heat helps melt natural oils that may be clogged in these glands. Enhancing oil flow prevents moisture evaporation.
